AnimalSave provides comprehensive animal welfare services to
western Nevada County and works to ensure that every companion
animal in our community has a safe and loving home. Our services
address the immediate, urgent needs of homeless animals and the pets
of low-income guardians, as well as the long-term issues of
spay/neuter and education. Please help us meet our goal of finding
permanent homes for 450 animals this year by telling everyone you
know about our Home 4 the Holidays adoption campaign and the
adoptathon this Saturday!
| Paris and Pups Update |
 |
|
It's
been nearly three months since Paris was found emaciated and
very pregnant by a kind woman named Zee. Now, after
recuperating from her ordeal, she happily goes everywhere with
her companion!
Here's a "pupdate" on her
puppies!
As you may have heard, this famous litter was nursed by
hand by loving AnimalSave volunteers, their mother too weak to
care for them. Today, they are strong, spayed or neutered,
socialized, and ready to find their forever homes. And they're
going like hotcakes!
Little Brin now lives in Alta Sierra with lots of flowers.
Baxter moved to a fancy house in Rocklin. Bear is living in
Roseville enjoying the company of an 8-year- old girl. Lydia
moved to the Bay Area. Sweet Maggie lives in Citrus Heights
helping her dad work from his home office. Lewis and Wanda
stayed local and were adopted together!
That leaves Chako, Bagheera, Abigail, and Mary. Interested?
Please fax your completed adoption application to
530-274-2576. You can get your adoption form online at
www.animalsave.org or by stopping by our offices at 520 E.
Main Street in Grass Valley.
AnimalSave wishes to thank all of our supporters who make
this work possible. Without you, these sweet little pups would
not have made it! Now, not only are they healthy and happy,
but they are deeply enriching the lives of their human
companions.

I'm
BUGABOO...the cutest calico in the CAT NAP ROOM! I'm still
young (only 2 years old!) and will make a wonderful companion
to a person or family. I have just one little request...no
other cats, please!

| Help Make Sure Needy Pets Have Enough to
Eat |
 |
|
When Pet Adoption League closed its doors in September,
many low-income pet guardians and individuals caring for
sterilized feral cat colonies were left without a badly needed
source of pet food. In an effort to keep pets in their homes
and out of local shelters, AnimalSave decided to continue
PAL's work of supporting responsible pet guardians with food.
To be eligible for the program, recipients must show proof
that their animal(s) have been spayed or neutered. Food is
distributed each Saturday morning.
AnimalSave is actively seeking volunteers to help keep this
important new program running smoothly. We need people to
greet food recipients, keep records, help load food into
vehicles, and manage inventory. If you would like to take on
any of these meaningful tasks to help the animals, please call
us at (530) 271-7071 x206.

| Why Volunteer? |
 |
|
When you volunteer you give of yourself-your time, energy,
skills and love. You give to your community. Volunteering your
time and talents is a powerful way to improve the world and
educate others about causes you care about. Your contribution
to others can bring feelings of self-fulfillment and the
knowledge that you have made a difference. Volunteering is a
way of saying thank you. As a volunteer, you also receive
personal benefits and enhance your personal growth. You
discover your strengths and talents, make new friends, meet
inspiring people, express gratitude and increase your social
awareness. All the staff at AnimalSave are eternally grateful
for all our volunteers. Our furry friend's thank you too. To
join the team, please call 271-7071 x206.
